Spotter

The training operating system for strength athletes and their coaches.

The program is prescribed and ready every session, and what you actually lifted is kept as truth.

Free for athletes to train. Coaches join free during early access.

Four rules the app is built on.

  • Planned and performed training are separate records. The prescription is one thing and what happened under the bar is another. Spotter never merges them.
  • History never moves.A finished session is immutable. Edit next week, not last week.
  • A set logged on a dead gym signal is not lost.Log it in the basement. The set is kept on the phone and sent when the signal returns.
  • Plan versus actual is shown as raw numbers, never a score.Sets, reps, load, RPE. No readiness index, no streak, nothing gamified.

For athletes

Open it, lift, and watch the curve move.

One session, as it runs. The next day is waiting when the app opens. The set is already typed from the prescription, so logging it is one tap, and the rest timer starts on its own. Finish, and the summary says what the session was. Then the curve has moved.

The athlete loop, recorded from the app: the Train screen shows the next session, Bench Day, and one tap starts it. The prescribed set is already typed, so one tap logs it and the rest timer starts counting down. A second set logs the same way. Finish Workout opens the summary, with a personal record, and the Bench Press row opens the lift, where the estimated one-rep-max curve has moved.
  1. The Train screen: the next session, Squat Day, with its prescription and a note from the coach, and one button, Start Workout.
01The next session, readyOpen the app and the plan is already there: the day, the sets, the loads. One tap starts it.
  2. A session in progress: the prescribed sets beside the sets logged, and the rest timer counting down.
02What you lifted is the recordLog a set and it stays logged. The prescription froze when you started; the set survives a dead gym signal.
  3. The Back Squat lift page: the estimated one-rep-max curve over two weeks, the rep maxes, and every set behind them.
03Progress you can seeEvery lift has a curve, the records that made it, and every set underneath. Numbers, never a score.

For coaches

Write the program once. Read what was lifted.

A coach writes the program and assigns it; the athlete's queue picks it up; the coach reads what was lifted and edits next week. The athlete owns every session, always, coached or not.

Barbell training first: RPE, tempo, percent of training max, the e1RM curve, and PRs recorded as facts.

  2. 02
AssignAuthor a block and assign it. It lands in the athlete's queue as their next session, with your note on the day.
  3. 03
ReviewRead history and lifts as they happen. Adjust next week's prescription; last week's record stays as lifted.

Athletes train free. Coaches pay for scale.

Athletes

Free

The complete app, every session, coached or not. Not a stripped client app.

Coaches

Founding Coach

Free during early access. When Spotter charges coaches, you keep a Founding Coach price — locked for as long as you subscribe — and your athletes never pay to train.

Not a feed, not a marketplace, not an AI coach.

Spotter facilitates the coaching relationships that already exist. No social layer, no discovery, no generated programs.

Opening in cohorts.

Spotter is opening to coaches and their athletes a cohort at a time. An invitation from your coach skips the line; otherwise, leave an address.
